Watts Gallery is closed for restoration until late 2010. During this period, highlights from our collection are being showcased in two major exhibitions in London:

‘G. F. Watts: Victorian Visionary. Highlights from the Watts Gallery Collection’ at Guildhall Art Gallery (from 12 November 2008 to 26 April 2009) and then at Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate (from 14 November 2009 to 21 March 2010) and

‘G. F. Watts: Parables in Paint’ at St. Paul’s Cathedral (from 1 December 2008 to 30 July 2009).

Both exhibitions are accompanied by comprehensive catalogues with new research on Watts’s work which can be ordered from the Watts Gallery shop:

‘G. F. Watts: Victorian Visionary. Highlights from the Watts Gallery Collection’, (ed.) Mark Bills and Barbara Bryant, Yale University Press, 2008.

‘G. F. Watts: Parables in Paint’, Hilary Underwood, Watts Gallery and St. Paul’s, 2008.

Online records for a selection of paintings, drawings and sculptures shown in London feature information adapted from the two exhibition catalogues with contributions by Mark Bills, Barbara Bryant, Julia Dudkiewicz, Dr Stephanie Brown and Hilary Underwood.
